Internet Explorer 8 is more standards compliant than any of the earlier versions. This means that pages you have written to standards will work better with IE8 than ever before. Internet Explorer 8 also adds some new end-user features that you can take advantage of on your sites. The new features are Web Slices, Accelerators, and Search Suggestions for Search Providers. Big improvements have been made to AJAX, JScript, and Developer Tools, there are more features to be discovered.

  • eBay Integration - Introduces a new way to get updates from other sites via the browser itself, without having to visit the web site.
  • Live Maps Integration - Right-click an address and choose Live Maps from the context menu to get a WebSlice preview of that location on a map in a small pop-up window.
  • Working with AJAX Pages - IE8 offers the better functionality when it comes to AJAX web pages.
