System Mechanic Home Page

The System Mechanic Home page provides simple access to all of the analysis, repair, optimization, and diagnostic tools offered by the program.

 

This topic provides an overview of all the System Mechanic tools and a description of the title bar and menu bar.

 

Click on the links within each section to read more detailed instructions.

System Health and System Security

The top of the Home page provides a snapshot view of the status of your computer, based on the last analysis. To analyze your computer, click Analyze (or Re-analyze).

Problem Task List

The Problem Task List pane shows the problems detected in the last analysis, and displays recently repaired problems.

 

You can view the issues detected, decide which ones you want to fix, and then immediately run the applicable repairs and optimizations.

IntelliStatus

The IntelliStatus pane provides key system details for quick analysis, troubleshooting, and performance-tracking. The links in each section give you fast access to the relevant optimization and management tools.

The I want to pane provides categorized access to all of System Mechanic's repair and optimization tools. Click here to see all of the categories:

Antivirus and Firewall

The Antivirus pane provides information about the status of your antivirus protection.

 

The Firewall pane provides information about the status of your firewall protection.

System Mechanic Odometer

The System Mechanic Odometer pane shows statistics of the repairs and optimizations made by System Mechanic.

Updates

The Updates pane allows you to download free software updates for System Mechanic. You can also view licensing information and customize the Internet connection settings for downloads.

News

The News pane displays bulletins and other valuable information from iolo technologies.

Online Assistance

The Online Assistance pane provides quick access to iolo's Web support page. Enter in the keyword you want to search and then click the green arrow.

 

The Customer Care page will open in your Web browser, displaying links to all the Knowledge Base articles, FAQs, and tutorials that contain the text you entered.

Menu Bar and Title Bar

Menu Bar:

• To undo selected System Mechanic actions, go to the Home page and click SafetyNet. This menu option is accessible only from the Home page. (Read more about SafetyNet.)

• To change various default settings, click Options. This menu option is accessible from all the screens in System Mechanic. (Read more about the Options window.)

• To open this Help system, click Help. This menu option is accessible from all the screens in System Mechanic. (Read more about using the Help system.)

Note: Task-specific help is also available within each window; look for the Help button on the bottom of the window.

• To go back to the Home page from a window, click the Home icon on the left side of the menu bar.

Title Bar:

• The title bar offers the standard Windows buttons: Minimize, Maximize/Restore, and Exit. More information:
