Get Started with System Mechanic 7

This topic provides basic information to help you get started with System Mechanic.

Step 1: Analyze Computer

Begin by running an analysis of your computer. Click the Analyze button, located at the top of the Home page.

You can choose the quick analysis option (Perform Quick Analysis), which takes about two minutes, or choose the more comprehensive check (Perform Deep Analysis); a deep analysis takes about five to seven minutes.

Once the analysis completes, you will see a snapshot of your computer's status, and the Problem Task List (described in Step 2 below) will display the specific issues that need your attention.

Step 2: Review Problem Task List and Run Repairs

After the analysis, the Problem Task List pane will show any problems that were detected.

You can view the problems and decide which ones you want to resolve.

  • To quickly make repairs and optimizations, simply select the check box next to each problem and then click the Repair selected problems button, located at the top of the Problem Task List pane.

  • To repair issues individually, click the Repair button to the right of the problem. You can also choose to have System Mechanic automatically run the fix (Repair this problem), or you can open the tool that will run the repair with settings you specify (Repair this problem manually).

Step 3: Run Any Other Desired Tools

The I want to pane provides categorized access to all of System Mechanic's repair and optimization tools.

Click on the category that suits your needs. For instance if you have noticed that your computer is running slower, the "Increase Performance" category is for you.
