What is Defragmentation?

Defragmenting a system or registry is when the system removes blank bytes of data and consolidates the remaining information so that there are no blank memory pieces within it. This is similar to removing filler columns in a database.

The registry, much like any program or table of information, stores data in a specific way. As your system is configured and reconfigured, the registry rearranges the keys, and data behind the keys, so that it reads the information in a way appropriate for processing. This can sometimes leave gaps between the data, which can slow processing of the information. Defragmenting can help keep your system running smoothly and efficiently. You should defragment after each registry repair.

Note: Defragmenting may take a few minutes and will require reboot your system before the changes will take effect. Please close all other applications and windows during defragmentation.

Key Features of Registry Defragmentation:

Makes your computer fast and stable in minutes.
Increases your computer speed up to 100%
Reduces application response time.
Reduces system response time.

Builds new registry with linear structure.

Registry Defragmentation

When you click on the Defrag button in the main window, you will be presented with the Defragment screen (above). The dialog has following options:

Analyze: Clicking on Analyze will start analyzing the registry files for defragmentation. After analysis it will show the size of the registry files before defragmentation, size of the files after defragmentation and percentage space which can be recovered by defragmentation.
Analysis can be stopped in between by clicking Cancel.
Defrag: Clicking on Defrag will start the actual defragmentation. Defragmentation requires movement of files so it is recommended that all applications should be closed before proceeding for defragmentation. After defragmentation system is rebooted to take effect.
Cancel: If cancel is clicked during analysis then it stops the analysis else it closes the defragmentation dialog.

Important Notes :

  1. Please be patient, it may take a few minutes to complete the process.
  2. Please close all other applications and windows during the process.
  3. During this process your computer will slow down and may become unresponsive.
  4. You must restart your PC after Defragmentation is completed.
