Shell Extensions Component

The Shell Extension component activates the AVG functions in the Windows Explorer (and some other file managers). This means that you can test locations and objects within the file browser by clicking the right mouse button and selecting the Scan with AVG option.

If you click (highlight) the Shell Extension component, these control buttons become available:

·Deactivate - switches off the Shell Extension feature.
·Settings - opens up the Test properties - "Shell Extension Test" dialog where you can modify settings for the test that runs from the file browser.
·Properties - shows general information about the component and allows you to define when and how it will be displayed in the AVG Control Center.
