DTV/DVD Decoder in Windows 7
Guide to Change / Replate DTV/DVD Decoder in Windows 7.
If you just update to Windows 7, you shall take a complete checking on your codecs in order to let your Windows 7 system work best.
Here we recommend a handy tool - GraphEdit - to check codecs on Windows 7.
GraphEdit is a utility which is part of the Microsoft DirectShow SDK. It is a visual tool for building and testing filter graphs for DirectShow. Filters are displayed as boxes, with a text caption showing the name of the filter. Pins appear as small squares along the edge of the filter. Input pins are shown on the left side of the filter, and output pins are on the right side of the filter. A pin connection appears as an arrow connecting the output pin to the input pin. Connection mediatypes can be viewed as "properties" on pins and connections. GraphEdit can automatically build a filter graph that plays a file.
I'm a user of Windows 7, when I use the Windows 7 Media Center, the default DTV/DVD decoder in Windows 7 is not working well. Finally I find some solutions on the Internet, following is the most easy one.
1. Open Windows Registry
2. Go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectShow\Preferred"
3. Right click on "Preferred" folder and click on "Permissions"
4. Click on "Advanced", then "Owner", "Administrators"
5. Put a tick mark on "Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects"
6. Click on "Ok"
7. On the administrators windows (see number 4), check "Full Control" and click on "Ok"
8. On the left hand pane, double click on "{e06d8026-db46-11cf-b4d1-00805f6cbbea}
{31435641-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}"
9. Replace the "value data entry" with the CLSid of the codec you want to use. Your options include that of Graphstudio, or RadLight Filter Manager.
You can also use this codec: FFDShow {04FE9017-F873-410E-871E-AB91661A4EF7}
MPCVideoDecoder {008BAC12-FBAF-497B-9670-BC6F6FBAE2C4}
COREAVC {09571A4B-F1FE-4C60-9760-DE6D310C7C31}
10. Restart your computer
