Erase option of CyberScrub Privacy Suite |

| The Preferences section of the Erase Options dialog box contains several options that you may want to change. |
| When an error occurs |
 |
| |
| These options allow you to specify how an erasing/wiping error is handled. If the 'Show error' box option is selected, CyberScrub Privacy Suite will display an error box that will inform you about the type of error that occurred and will ask you what to do next (retry the action that failed, ignore the error, abort the erasing/wiping process, etc.). If the 'Ignore and continue' option is selected, the error will be ignored and the erasing process will continue. (Note: Please read the section Handling Errors for more information) |
| Log file |

| These options allow you to control the log file feature. If you want to use a log file, check the 'Use log file' check box and enter a valid file name in the 'Log file' field. If you want to keep the current contents of the log file, and add new entries at the end of the file, check the 'Append to existing log file' check box. If you want to log only errors to the log file, check the 'Log errors only' check box. |

| Show statistics while erasing |
| If this option is enabled, CyberScrub Privacy Suite displays various information while erasing, such as the number of erased files, the number of KB wiped per second, the elapsed time, etc. |
| Show overall progress indicator |
| If this option is enabled, an overall progress indicator is displayed while erasing/wiping. (Note: In order to display an overall progress indicator, CyberScrub Privacy Suite must first scan and count the number of files and/or their size before starting to erase/wipe them) |
| Allow erase interrupt |
| If this option is enabled, you can abort erasing at any time by pressing the Stop button of the Progress dialog box. |

| Stealth Mode |
| Enabling this option will allow user to run CyberScrub Privacy Suite in stealth mode. In stealth mode, CyberScrub Privacy Suite will run in the background completely invisible to the user (no main window, no dialog boxes, not visible in the taskbar, etc.). This way no one will know you are running a data security application. |
| NOTE: If you are running a stealth mode process in the background it is not recommended to initiate any visible wiping process. Running a visible process, using CyberScrub Privacy Suite, will interrupt the stealth mode process. When the visible mode process has finished its wiping activity, the stealth mode process will restart and will wipe all the identified targets. |

| Protect my Restore Points |
| If this option is enabled, your Restore Points will be protected from being removed in some situations (see below). |
| System Restore is a component of Windows that you can use to restore your computer to a previous state, if a problem occurs, without losing your personal data files (such as Microsoft Word documents, browsing history, drawings, favorites, or e-mail). System Restore monitors changes to the system and some application files, and it automatically creates easily identified Restore Points. These Restore Points allow you to revert the system to a previous time. They are created daily and at the time of significant system events (such as when an application or driver is installed). |
| As Microsoft documents, Windows automatically removes the Restore Points from your computer when the free space falls below 50 MB on any drives. As a consequence, because some wiping operations (such as the scrambling of file properties - name, date, size, etc.; or the wiping of the free disk space) result in the temporary reduction of the free disk space to zero bytes, the Restore Points will be removed from your system. |
| CyberScrub Privacy Suite can help you protect your Restore Points from being deleted by Windows in the situations described above, by selecting this option. |
