Good: It works pretty well in recording any audio streaming that is passing through your computer's sound card.

Set up:

dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP has a lot to recommend it, including the ability to record sound, support many audio formats, and edit the recorder audio file with built-in sound editor.

The download file for dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP is about 3.03MB, and the installation of the program is pretty straight forward, though at the end of the installation you’ll be prompted to input registration name and code, which you may immediately get after you purchase it. After the installation, the entire folder occupies 2.62MB, smaller than the setup file. There is no adware, malware and other packed software such as Google Toolbar or something like that, except a built-in sound editor. So don’t worry, it is 100% clean.

Interface:

I have no idea to know if you are attracted by the amazing interface of this little pretty program, but I am. It looks like a music player; buttons are in a line setting in the middle of the panel. If you move your mouse over the button, it will show you a tag, which is an explanation about the function this button could provide. The concise interface of dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP is pretty much impossible to be confused or misunderstood whether you are a novice or an advanced user.

Benefits:

Have you ever been in the situation that when you play sound with like RealPlayer or Windows Media Player from internet, often pause and wait. Finality, your recording sound often have silent?

If you say “yes”, I strongly recommend dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP to you. It supports sound data active recording mode TM technology, and this feature is very useful to record sound when from internet. Though that it will pause recording automatically when pause playing until playing continue. So with this feature your recording file will not have any silent.

Have you ever hoped to display a waveform image of an audio file, apply various audio effects, exam the frequency components and other details about your audio file?

With dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP’s built-in sound editor, all of the above thoughts will be easy to achieve. Don’t worry about how to operate, even if you are a beginner, their detailed Help File pretty much covers everything you might want to do, the program is excellent, is it?

System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT 4.0 / 2000 / XP
Full duplex sound card

I installed dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP on my desktop PC with a 1.75 GHz AMD CPU, 80G hard drive and 512MB RAM. My operating system is WindowsXP.

When the program is launching, it occupies less than 13MB memory, and it does not affect other program circulating.

Conclusion:

dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP enables you to record sound played back through your sound card and any other sound source like microphone, VCR, Line in, Telephone, Data CD, DVD, Audio tape player etc. You can use it to grab any sound, including music, dialogs from movies, game sounds etc. from your local computer or the internet. Captured sounds can be saved in WAV, MP3, WMA or OGG format, using real-time conversion (without creating temporary files).

There are also some good software with similar functions, such as Absolute Sound Recorder 3.5.9, All Recorder 3.3.5, and Arial Sound Recorder 1.5.3, but I prefer dvdXsoft Sound Recorder XP most.
